Thames Conservancy - The Thames Fishery Byelaws 1914

The Thames Fishery Byelaws, 1914, published in February of that year by Thames Conservancy.  Comprising of 17 pages the pamphlet would have cost you One Shilling.  A fascinating document into how angling on the Thames was managed.  It is interesting to note that an area of the river which is now popular with anglers at Sunbury 'from the "Magpie" Inn to Sunbury Weir, a distance of 683 yards or thereabouts' was marked out for the incubation of fish, and in the words of the Conservancy 'a place in which taking of fish restricted'.
